Are seizures funny???
12As a parent of a child who has been diagnosed with epilepsy I personally do not find seizures/epilepsy funny. This week my wife and I rented the movie Tower Heist starring Ben Stiller and Eddie Murphy. Much to my surprise when I was watching the movie there was a scene where Eddie Murphy’s character started making fun of Ben Stiller’s character calling him “seizure boy”. He says it more than one time and he talks about eyes rolling back in his head, foaming at the mouth and it was very scary. (more…)
Ambulances still make my heart stop
Our daughter Cece was diagnosed with intractable epilepsy at three months old and she has been having seizures on and off ever since. Her seizures are pretty controlled by medicine at this point but at the end of 2011 she had three weeks in a row with over ten minute grand mal seizures. Early on after we had first discovered she had epilepsy every time she had a seizure we would call 911 and the ambulance would come and take her to the hospital. (more…)
